This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California, +2 more states.
• Design intricate multi-layer PCBs for advanced digital, mixed-signal, and high-power systems encompassing FPGAs and microcontrollers.
• Create PCB layouts for Digital/Analog/RF circuits with meticulous attention to impedance control, loss tangent, and electromagnetic compatibility.
• Conduct signal integrity analysis for high-speed digital interfaces such as PCIe, DDR, and Ethernet.
• Execute power integrity analysis and design power distribution networks (PDN) tailored for low-noise, high-current applications.
• Develop component libraries, perform design rule checks (DRCs), and uphold design standards.
• Collaborate with electrical engineers on component selection, schematic evaluations, and design enhancements.
• Produce fabrication and assembly documentation, which includes Gerber files, drill files, and assembly drawings.
• Partner with PCB manufacturers and contract manufacturers to ensure manufacturability and address fabrication challenges.
• Assist in board bring-up activities, troubleshooting hardware issues associated with PCB design.
• Design with considerations for space environments, including thermal management, radiation tolerance, and mechanical stress.
• B.S. degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related discipline, accompanied by over 5 years of PCB design experience.
• Expertise in PCB design software (Altium Designer, Cadence Allegro, or equivalent).
• Comprehensive understanding of signal integrity principles applicable to high-speed digital design, including transmission lines, termination, and crosstalk.
• Background in controlled impedance design and PCB stackup optimization.
• Experience in high voltage layout design, considering creepage clearance and thermal management.
• Familiarity with EMI/EMC best practices and associated design guidelines.
• Knowledge of IPC standards (IPC-2221, IPC-6012, IPC-A-610).
• Proficiency in PCB layout for FPGAs, high-speed ADCs/DACs, or mixed-signal systems.
