This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Czechia.
• Play a key role in shaping the overall QA strategy for Mirantis Secure Registry, Kubernetes, and cloud-native environments, ensuring alignment of quality objectives with business goals and release timelines.
• Assess and advocate for top-tier testing methodologies and frameworks tailored for distributed systems.
• Lead risk assessment and test planning for extensive, multi-cloud registries, infrastructure, and container orchestration.
• Design test frameworks and infrastructure to validate microservices and infrastructure components within multi-cluster and hybrid-cloud settings.
• Supervise the creation of intricate test scenarios that mimic production-like workloads, resource scaling, failure injection, and recovery across distributed clusters.
• Drive the development of scalable and maintainable test automation that integrates seamlessly with CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, GitHub Actions, etc.).
• Utilize Kubernetes APIs, Helm, and service mesh tools to establish comprehensive automation coverage, addressing system health, failover behavior, and network resilience.
• Advocate for infrastructure-as-code practices and propel IaC initiatives within the team to ensure the infrastructure code is repeatable, extensible, and dependable.
• Guide QA engineers and developers in advanced testing methodologies, including risk-based testing, chaos engineering, performance, and load testing.
• Act as the QA subject matter expert during design reviews, production readiness assessments, and incident retrospectives (for escaped defects).
• Collaborate with DevOps engineers to enhance monitoring, alerting, and debugging strategies for testing automation executed in CI/CD.
• Set up quality gates, release readiness metrics, and data-driven feedback loops to guarantee that released software meets production standards.
• Lead efforts to incorporate performance, security, and chaos testing into the development lifecycle.
• Champion a culture of quality across teams and impact architectural decisions with testing considerations.
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related discipline.
• Over 10 years of experience in software testing or quality engineering roles, with a minimum of 4 years dedicated to Kubernetes, cloud-native applications, and distributed systems.
• Demonstrated leadership in developing and scaling test strategies within enterprise-grade environments.
• Profound understanding of Kubernetes internals, cluster lifecycle management, Helm, service meshes (e.g., Istio or Linkerd), and network policies.
• Strong skills in scripting and automation (Python, Pytest, Bash, etc.).
• Familiarity with observability stacks (Prometheus, Grafana, Jaeger), Kubernetes security (RBAC, secrets management), and performance benchmarking tools (e.g., K6).
• Solid foundation in cloud architecture (AWS, Azure, GCP), infrastructure provisioning, and containerized CI/CD.
• Moderate to advanced proficiency in Linux: Bash scripting and debugging, systemd/logs, networking/firewalling/routing, certificate/PKI management, containers (Docker/containerd), and Kubernetes tooling (kubectl/Helm with OCI registries, GitOps/Flux) for installing, testing, and troubleshooting multi-cluster environments.
• Outstanding problem-solving abilities and architectural insight.
• Experience in influencing cross-functional teams and senior leadership.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills suitable for both technical and executive-level audiences.
• Experience mentoring and coaching junior team members, particularly in testing fundamentals, troubleshooting, and automation.
• Contributions to open-source Kubernetes or QA tooling projects are preferred.
• Experience with chaos engineering in Kubernetes environments is preferred.
• Relevant certifications such as CKA, CKAD, or AWS Certified DevOps Engineer are preferred.
