This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Bulgaria.
• Contribute to the comprehensive QA strategy for Mirantis Secure Registry, Kubernetes, and cloud-native ecosystems.
• Assess and advocate for testing practices and frameworks tailored for distributed systems.
• Spearhead risk analysis and test planning for expansive, multi-cloud registries, infrastructure, and container orchestration.
• Design test frameworks and infrastructure for microservices and infrastructure elements in multi-cluster and hybrid-cloud settings.
• Create intricate test scenarios that mimic production workloads, including scaling, failure injection, and recovery across distributed clusters.
• Develop scalable and maintainable test automation integrated with CI/CD platforms such as Jenkins and GitHub Actions.
• Utilize Kubernetes APIs, Helm, and service mesh tools to enhance automation coverage for system health, failover, and network resilience.
• Advocate for a repeatable, extensible, and reliable infrastructure-as-code testing framework.
• Mentor QA engineers and developers on risk-based, chaos, performance, and load testing methodologies.
• Act as the QA authority during design reviews, production readiness assessments, and incident retrospectives.
• Collaborate with DevOps engineers to strategize monitoring, alerting, and debugging for CI/CD test automation.
• Set quality gates, release-readiness metrics, and data-driven feedback mechanisms.
• Incorporate performance, security, and chaos testing throughout the development lifecycle.
• Promote a culture of quality and impact architectural decisions with testing considerations.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related discipline.
• Over 10 years of experience in software testing or quality engineering roles.
• More than 4 years dedicated to Kubernetes, cloud-native applications, and distributed systems.
• Demonstrated leadership in developing and scaling test strategies in enterprise-level environments.
• In-depth knowledge of Kubernetes internals, cluster lifecycle management, Helm, service meshes, and network policies.
• Strong expertise in scripting and automation using Python, Pytest, and Bash.
• Familiarity with tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, Jaeger, RBAC, secrets management, and K6.
• Solid foundation in AWS, Azure, GCP, infrastructure provisioning, and containerized CI/CD practices.
• Moderate to advanced proficiency in Linux systems.
• Skills in Bash scripting and debugging, as well as understanding systemd/logs, networking, firewalling, and routing.
• Experience with Certificate/PKI management, Docker/containerd, kubectl/Helm with OCI registries, and GitOps/Flux.
• Outstanding problem-solving abilities and architectural insight.
• Experience in influencing cross-functional teams and senior leadership.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Proven ability to mentor and coach one or more junior team members.
• Contributions to open-source Kubernetes or QA tooling projects are highly desirable.
• Preferred experience in implementing chaos engineering in Kubernetes environments.
• CKA, CKAD, or AWS Certified DevOps Engineer certifications are preferred.
