This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Ireland.
• Collaborate with audio designers to devise a technical strategy that aligns with the artistic vision.
• Plan and specify environmental needs to ensure optimal audio presentation.
• Partner with Gameplay, AI, and Optimization engineers to integrate audio systems while adhering to performance budgets.
• Analyze and enhance audio usage to maintain high quality with minimal CPU and memory usage.
• Implement plugins for platform-specific functionalities.
• Produce high-performance, high-quality, and thoroughly documented code.
• Utilize source control and bug tracking software.
• Prioritize and implement tasks within a collaborative team setting.
• Experience as an Audio Engineer in the game development field.
• Proficiency in C++ programming.
• Familiarity with Unreal Engine is essential.
• Strong understanding of the audio system within Unreal Engine and middleware solutions like Wwise, Unreal Audio Engine, or FMOD.
• Exceptional problem-solving, organizational, and communication abilities.
• Experience with profiling and debugging tools is required.
• A strong passion for creating immersive audio solutions that enhance the player experience.
• A genuine enthusiasm for gaming is essential.
• Desirable qualifications include:
• Experience in integrating audio-driven effects (e.g., Wwise motion).
• Familiarity with the Wwise authoring API (WAAPI).
• Ability to design and implement robust APIs.
• Practical experience in rendering/graphics.
• Experience in agile development methodologies.
• Background in tool creation.
• Knowledge of additional programming languages such as C#, Python, or Groovy is a plus.
