Senior ATIP Specialist

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.

📋 Description

• Create and document a comprehensive project plan that includes key milestones and work objectives to ensure adherence to the fixed delivery deadline.

• Process and fulfill the Access to Information request in strict compliance with the Access to Information Act.

• Conduct and record consultations with third parties as mandated by the Act, utilizing OneNote, email to the ATIP Coordinator, and the processing system.

• Communicate directly with the requestor for any necessary clarifications.

• Collaborate with the Office of the Information Commissioner as needed.

• Plan and implement periodic interim releases, ensuring that appropriate consultations and justifications are documented for the ATIP Coordinator.

• Apply severance decisions in accordance with the Act and relevant jurisprudence, providing necessary documentation to the ATIP Coordinator.

• Develop lessons-learned documentation on processing large ATI requests within smaller institutions, intended for the Project Authority and ATIP Coordinator.

⛳️ Requirements

• Proven understanding of the Access to Information Act, as well as related Treasury Board Secretariat (TBS) policies and directives, and current ATIP practices.

• Experience in processing large-volume, complex Access to Information requests, including managing both internal and external consultations (some of which may be sequential) and interim releases.

• Experience in applying severance decisions in line with the Act and relevant jurisprudence.

• Must be eligible to obtain or currently possess a Level II (Secret) security clearance.

• Proficiency in either English or French is essential.
