Senior Associate, Unclaimed Property Consulting

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Colorado, +1 more state.

📋 Description

• Support organizations with multi-state unclaimed property issues, including assessments, audit defense, or the voluntary disclosure agreement process.

• Prepare companies for examinations by outlining upcoming requests and familiarizing them with the process.

• Represent clients in discussions with auditors regarding the current status of the examination and replies to information document requests.

• Track client requests and submissions while assisting with record reviews (e.g., tax documents, accounting records, policies, and procedures).

• Conduct data analysis to uncover potential unclaimed property risks.

• Create and present strategies to clients aimed at mitigating potential unclaimed property exposure.

• Assist in drafting final deliverables and reports for clients and state submissions.

• Willingness to travel up to 30%.

⛳️ Requirements

• At least 2 years of professional experience in unclaimed property (prior consulting experience is preferred).

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

• Ability to consistently produce high-quality, professional deliverables on time and within budget.

• Self-driven individual with strong time management and organizational capabilities.

• Demonstrated understanding of complex unclaimed property concepts.

• Proven experience in unclaimed property consulting engagements, including audit defense, voluntary disclosure agreement programs, policies and procedures, or similar services.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office products, especially Excel.

• Capacity to adapt to new environments and work effectively in diverse situations while maintaining productivity under changing circumstances.

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, business administration, finance, engineering, information systems, or a related field.
