Senior Associate – Leave and Accommodations

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Massachusetts.

📋 Description

• Oversee the entire lifecycle of leave of absence and accommodation cases from initial intake through to return to work.

• Collaborate with the third-party leave vendor to assess requests and apply company policies along with legal requirements to ensure compliant decisions.

• Act as the primary point of contact for employees and managers, offering guidance, regular updates, and support for returning to work throughout the leave process.

• Function as a subject matter expert on leave and accommodation programs, addressing complex cases and consulting with Legal or HR leadership when necessary.

• Identify opportunities for process improvements, maintain and analyze leave data, and provide reports and recommendations to facilitate better decisions and continuous program enhancements.

• Investigate suspected misuse or fraud related to leave, document findings, and escalate any concerns.

• Collaborate with Payroll, Legal, HR, HR Operations, and AskHR to assist with leave-related tasks.

• Monitor the performance of third-party administrators, resolve case-related issues, track trends, and escalate concerns to ensure accurate and timely service delivery.

• Stay updated on leave laws, best practices, and industry trends through continuous learning and professional development.

• Responsibly utilize AI tools to summarize case information, organize documentation, and identify workflow patterns while safeguarding confidential employee data.


⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field is preferred, or equivalent work experience.

• 3-5 years of progressive experience in leave administration, benefits, or a related HR field.

• Significant experience in independently managing FMLA and ADA/ADAAA cases.

• In-depth knowledge of federal, state, and local leave laws and regulations.

• Proven experience in interpreting documentation and applying policies to decide on the next steps in case management.

• Familiarity with HR systems, case management systems, or workflow tools such as Workday, ADP, or similar platforms.

• Capacity to analyze data, identify trends, and produce clear reports or summaries.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

• Strong organizational and time management abilities.

• Ability to work independently, collaborate across teams, and uphold confidentiality and sound judgment.
