Senior Associate, Finance

📋 Description

• Examine audited financial statements for all LFM-managed funds to verify accuracy, consistency, and alignment with financial models.

• Assess periodic financial statements produced by Broadstreet Impact Services (BIS) for LFM-managed funds.

• Evaluate fund-level financial performance and pinpoint significant variances or issues that need escalation.

• Collaborate with Fund Managers to ensure that fund financial statements are correctly integrated into fund-level models and performance reports.

• Highlight key financial developments, risks, or changes to senior leadership for their review and decision-making.

• Oversee the reporting of management fees across all LFM-managed funds.

• Reconcile “due to/from” balances among funds, the LFM management company, and the parent organization.

• Guarantee precise tracking of financial obligations at the fund level and revenue streams for the management company.

• Assist in the preparation of internal financial reports for the Finance and Operations leadership team.

• Act as the main point of coordination between LFM, Broadstreet Impact Services, and internal finance teams regarding fund financial reporting and operational finance issues.

• Maintain ongoing working relationships with fund managers, accounting partners, and internal stakeholders to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting.

• Aid in investor relations activities by providing financial data, analysis, and reporting support.

• Coordinate financial information and reporting requirements among LFM leadership, the parent organization, and shared services teams.

• Contribute to forecasting and budgeting processes for LFM-managed funds.

• Provide historical financial analysis and actuals-based insights to guide forecasting and budgeting efforts led by Fund Management.

• Ensure consistency between reported financial outcomes and inputs utilized in internal planning and reporting processes.

• Offer financial insights to support fund performance monitoring and planning decisions.


⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business Administration, or relevant experience.

• At least 5–7 years of experience in finance, fund accounting, investment operations, or financial reporting, ideally within asset management, private equity, real estate funds, or impact investment platforms.

• Experience in reviewing or preparing financial statements for investment funds, with knowledge of audited financials and fund accounting practices.

• Strong grasp of financial reporting, forecasting, budgeting, and financial analysis concepts.

• Familiarity with coordinating efforts with third-party accounting providers, fund administrators, or financial service partners.

• Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel, including experience with financial models and complex financial datasets.

• Keen attention to detail and the ability to detect inconsistencies or risks in financial reporting.

• Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and coordinate workstreams across internal teams and external partners.

• Strong stakeholder management and communication skills, capable of presenting financial insights clearly to senior leadership.

• Experience in supporting investor reporting or investor relations activities is preferred.

• Familiarity with financial systems used in fund management environments (like fund accounting platforms, financial reporting systems) is preferred.

• Demonstrated interest in community development finance or impact investing, along with a commitment to LISC’s mission.
