šŸ“‹ Description

• Act as a subject matter expert on integrated resource planning, demand flexibility, large loads, or regulatory processes within your project teams, ensuring the rigor and feasibility of proposed solutions.

• Independently define and execute multiple small projects or workstreams simultaneously across various modes of work, including research & thought leadership, technical assistance, and workshop design and facilitation.

• Lead the development of research, insights, and recommendations to assist with regulatory and planning decisions by synthesizing both quantitative and qualitative data.

• Design and facilitate workshops, meetings, and gatherings with stakeholders from the electricity sector.

• In collaboration with senior staff, structure and create presentations and written materials that convey new insights to partners in a clear and compelling way.

• Apply a range of project management techniques to ensure high-quality and timely execution of project deliverables as an individual contributor.

• Mentor and motivate project team members while addressing any issues throughout the project lifecycle.


ā›³ļø Requirements

• Advanced degree in a relevant field such as engineering (power systems, mechanical, electrical, civil), economics, computer science, or mathematics.

• Over 4 years of pertinent professional experience in related areas, such as utility regulation, utility strategy, climate or energy advocacy, policy, law, or other fields connected to the decarbonization of electricity systems.

• Proven track record in a project-based work environment, producing significant work products (e.g., consulting deliverables, peer-reviewed publications, etc.) on topics relevant to this position.

• Exceptional time management, organizational skills, entrepreneurship, and drive.

• Knowledge of the electricity industry, including an understanding of key trends and the stakeholder landscape.

• Preferred expertise in one or more specific areas: Utility resource planning practices and regulatory processes; Integration of large loads such as data centers into the grid, including large load tariffs, clean energy sourcing, or load forecasting; Distributed energy resources, virtual power plants, demand flexibility, or battery energy storage.

• Strong writing and verbal communication skills.

• Excellent collaboration skills and the ability to work across diverse teams and perspectives.
