
Senior Asset Manager, Special Assets β Distressed Multifamily Loans

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Texas.
β’ Oversee a portfolio comprising high-risk, delinquent, watchlist, and non-performing multifamily assets, ensuring vigilant monitoring of performance, compliance with covenants, and the condition of collateral.
β’ Assess the financial stability of borrowers, property performance, and business plans to evaluate credit risk, pinpoint potential issues, and formulate suitable risk mitigation strategies.
β’ Create and implement asset-level workout strategies, which include forbearance agreements, loan restructurings, repayment plans, and, when necessary, enforcement actions.
β’ Collaborate with Legal and external counsel to oversee enforcement processes such as receiverships, foreclosure, litigation, and the negotiation of workout and restructuring documentation.
β’ Act as the main contact for intricate and distressed assets, leading discussions with borrowers, managing communications with investors, and coordinating efforts with internal stakeholders.
β’ Draft clear and concise credit memos, risk assessments, and recommendations to aid decision-making for senior leadership and credit committees.
β’ Ensure accurate and timely asset-level data and reporting within servicing systems, maintaining transparency and consistency across tracking tools and dashboards.
β’ Track portfolio performance to detect early warning signals and escalate emerging risks with suggested actions.
β’ Assist in portfolio-level reporting and analysis, which includes identifying trends, risk concentrations, and performance insights.
β’ Provide mentorship and support to junior team members, fostering consistency in analysis, documentation, and overall asset management practices.
β’ A Bachelorβs degree is required (preferably in Finance, Real Estate, or a related field).
β’ 5β7+ years of experience with a robust understanding of multifamily asset management and non-performing loans, including both Agency and Non-Agency products (experience with LIHTC is preferred).
β’ Demonstrated ability to handle complex assets and deliver clear, well-supported credit recommendations in a dynamic setting.
β’ Expertise in financial analysis, valuation concepts, and risk assessment, including experience in evaluating cash flow, collateral performance, and business plans.
β’ Capacity to manage multiple priorities and drive results in a fast-paced, high-accountability environment.
β’ Travel may be required as necessary.
