Senior Applied ML Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Netherlands.

📋 Description

• Design, train, and implement machine learning models for retrieval, reranking, and search relevance in production environments.

• Construct and enhance embedding-based indexing and large-scale retrieval systems.

• Create models that assist with crawling, data selection, and content comprehension.

• Establish and refine quality metrics for agent-native search and develop evaluation pipelines.

• Engage with systems operating at substantial scales, including high-throughput query workloads.

• Collaborate closely with engineering teams to integrate machine learning models into production services.

• Analyze performance trade-offs involving latency, quality, and cost.

• Experiment with and implement cutting-edge techniques in search, retrieval, and LLM-integrated systems.

• Contribute to product and architectural decisions in a rapidly evolving environment.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 5 years of experience in software engineering or applied machine learning.

• Proficient programming skills in Python, Go, or C++.

• Demonstrated experience in deploying machine learning models in production systems.

• Practical experience with retrieval, ranking, recommendation, or similar machine learning challenges.

• Strong grasp of machine learning and contemporary deep learning methodologies.

• Experience with large-scale data systems and high-throughput settings.

• Capability to design evaluation frameworks and establish meaningful model metrics.

• Product-oriented approach with an emphasis on impact and iteration.

• Excellent problem-solving abilities and capacity to work within a distributed team.
