This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Utah.
• Design and deploy production agentic systems utilizing multi-agent orchestration, tool utilization, RAG pipelines, and MCP-based integrations with platform APIs.
• Create reliability layers surrounding agents, incorporating evaluations, guardrails, observability, cost control measures, and regression testing.
• Execute maker-checker patterns for regulated workflows within the insurance sector.
• Integrate agent functionalities with the deterministic core, canonical data model, Config Hub, and Control Tower task orchestration.
• Collaborate in the co-authorship and implementation of AI-first engineering principles, encompassing agent harnesses, AI-assisted code reviews, shared skills and prompt libraries, eval-gated continuous integration, and development environment standards.
• Promote the adoption of AI-first engineering methodologies across teams in Vilnius and the United States.
• Influence AI-first product principles, human-in-the-loop methodologies, agent UX conventions, and practices for estimating AI capabilities.
• Establish reference patterns through personal contributions for other engineers to adopt.
• Collaborate with engineering leadership on the AI architecture roadmap and year-end production proof points.
• Carry out additional responsibilities as requested, directed, or assigned.
• Over 5 years of software engineering experience with a solid foundation in backend or full-stack development.
• Proficiency with APIs, event-driven systems, and data modeling.
• Proven real-world experience with LLM-powered systems, including agent orchestration, tool invocation, RAG, and structured outputs.
• Demonstrated capability to enhance the reliability of agentic systems through evaluations, fallbacks, deterministic checkpoints, and management of costs and latency.
• Strong product judgment to determine when AI adds value and to employ deterministic coding where suitable.
• Evidence of influencing others' development practices through the adoption and sustainability of workflows, harnesses, or methodologies.
• Excellent written communication skills.
