Senior Application Services Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Germany.

📋 Description

• Analyze and address intricate technical incidents, issues, and performance challenges.

• Ensure the reliability, security, and ongoing enhancement of essential business services.

• Participate in architectural and design choices related to applications, databases, and middleware.

• Independently organize, prioritize, and execute technical initiatives.

• Enhance the operating environment through automation, process refinement, and the advancement of monitoring and observability capabilities.

• Apply security protocols, including hardening, certificate management, access controls, and compliance measures.

• Manage complex tickets, encompassing root cause analysis and the creation of sustainable solutions.

• Collaborate closely with development, service, and infrastructure teams.

• Assist customers with demanding technical challenges.

⛳️ Requirements

• Several years of experience managing application, database, or middleware systems.

• Completed degree in IT, vocational training as an IT specialist, or equivalent hands-on experience.

• Strong knowledge in several of the following areas: Oracle databases and/or middleware; Linux and/or Windows operating systems; monitoring and observability; automation (e.g., Ansible, scripting).

• Ability to comprehensively analyze complex technical interdependencies and devise sustainable solutions.

• Experience in contributing to architectural or design decisions.

• Organized, proactive, and efficient work approach, coupled with a strong focus on quality and security.

• Outstanding communication skills and a passion for cross-functional collaboration.

• Initial experience with certificate management, complex application environments, or collaboration with DevOps teams is a plus.

• Proficiency in German at least at B1 level.

• English language skills are advantageous.
