Senior Application Developer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Maryland.

📋 Description

• Design, construct, and oversee data and inference pipelines as well as integrations.

• Create machine learning classifications and applications that support significant clinical insights initiatives.

• Provide top-tier capabilities as a senior team member.

• Engage in business planning and technical strategy development.

• Drive innovation in technology, team processes, and development methodologies.

• Collaborate with Architects, Developers, Data QA Engineers, DevOps, Product Owners, and Scrum Masters.

• Utilize IDEXX’s core clinical data assets.

• Contribute to software and data engineering solutions that facilitate medical insights and enhance pet health.

• Guide and mentor junior Development and QA team members.

⛳️ Requirements

• Expertise in one or more major cloud platforms (AWS is preferred).

• Proficiency in Databricks.

• Strong skills in Python, PySpark, and Spark.

• Familiarity with AWS Services such as API Gateway, AWS Lambda, SQS, and S3.

• Proficient with GitHub and experienced with GitHub Actions.

• Knowledge of machine learning model-building techniques and model inference.

• Proficient with relational databases and SQL.

• Experience in creating continuous integration and deployment (CI/CD) systems.

• Familiarity with infrastructure-as-code tools like Terraform.

• Experience with JIRA, Confluence, Slack, and MS Teams.

• Basic knowledge of Snowflake.

• Understanding of domain-driven design (DDD) is a plus.

• Ability to quickly learn and adapt.

• Capacity to mentor and coach junior Development and QA team members.

• Experience and enthusiasm for working in Agile/Scrum teams.

• Exceptional communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills.
