Senior Android Engineer, Kotlin

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Brazil.

📋 Description

• Become a part of the mobile team as an embedded engineer, focusing on the development of new features for our flagship Android news application.

• Engage with the Jira board, participate in daily standups, and collaborate with the internal team to deliver code.

• Manage backend services while taking full responsibility for the native Kotlin layer.

• Leverage design and product decisions that have already been validated on the iOS platform.

• Construct a redesigned home screen featuring dynamic and customizable content feeds.

• Enhance navigation throughout the application.

• Incorporate audio functionality for continuous playback in the background as well as vertical video streaming.

• Develop dedicated brand destinations for Food and Sports, including a Discover map and live scoreboards.

• Create embedded web views for games, puzzles, and other interactive content.

⛳️ Requirements

• Minimum of 5 years of production experience with Kotlin in consumer-facing Android applications.

• Proficient in Android Views along with ViewBinding/DataBinding skills (the codebase is based on Views, not Jetpack Compose).

• Familiarity with MVVM architecture utilizing ViewModel, Repository pattern, Hilt DI, and Navigation Component.

• Experience with GraphQL clients, particularly the Apollo Kotlin SDK.

• Proficient in REST API integration using Retrofit and Moshi.

• Knowledge of WebView integration and JavaScript bridge patterns (addJavascriptInterface).

• Skilled in Gradle Kotlin DSL build configuration, including product flavors.

• Able to work comfortably within an existing codebase alongside an established team.
