This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Minnesota.
• Familiarize yourself with your colleagues, technology, and tactics. In the initial month, you will establish your local setup, contribute your first minor input, and acclimate to our pod's rhythm. You will explore the Cozi and FamilyWall Android codebases, comprehend their architectural differences, and pinpoint areas for experimentation. Additionally, you will forge connections with product, design, QA, and backend team members.
• Conduct and design experiments. By the 60-day mark, you will be proficiently navigating our development lifecycle from planning to production releases. You will design and implement your inaugural A/B experiments in the Android app, defining hypotheses, configuring feature flags, and ensuring precise data collection. Your work will span subscription, onboarding, and activation flows for Cozi and FamilyWall, while you start forming insights on potential enhancements to the experimentation framework.
• Take full ownership of the experiment cycle. By day 90, you will independently scope, create, and evaluate Growth experiments. You will proactively suggest experiment concepts based on data and user behavior, rather than merely implementing assigned tasks. You will engage in technical planning, foresee edge cases, and balance rapid iteration with app quality. Collaboration with product, design, and data teams will be essential to refine the hypothesis-test-learn cycle.
• Enhance experimentation and shape strategy. In the months following your initial onboarding, you will influence the experimentation roadmap for Family Org Android in partnership with product and engineering leadership. You will mentor colleagues on experiment design, best practices in instrumentation, and data integrity. Your efforts will aim to boost conversion, activation, and retention for both Cozi and FamilyWall, contributing to cross-platform consistency (Android, iOS, Web) for unified Growth experiments.
• Over 5 years of experience in Android development, with a track record of building and launching apps at scale.
• Profound expertise in Kotlin, including coroutines and Flow, along with best practices in Android development, such as managing core components (Activities, Services, etc.) and their lifecycles.
• Familiarity with Android app architecture patterns like MVVM, uni-directional data flow, and dependency injection frameworks (Hilt or Dagger).
• Practical experience with in-app purchases, subscription flows, or related payment functionalities.
• Experience in designing and evaluating A/B experiments — owning the entire hypothesis-to-insight process rather than just toggling feature flags.
• Knowledge of integrating feature flagging tools such as LaunchDarkly or Optimizely.
• Strong background in designing instrumentation schemas and ensuring data quality for experiment analysis (Firebase Analytics, Amplitude, Segment, etc.).
• A proactive user of AI-assisted development tools — regularly incorporating AI tools (Copilot, Claude, Cursor, etc.) into your daily coding, debugging, and problem-solving tasks.
• Familiarity with Android build tools (Gradle) and continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines.
• Experience with JUnit, MockK, and a commitment to a quality-first testing approach.
• Proven ability to lead feature delivery from start to finish within a cross-functional team, encompassing technical planning and stakeholder alignment.
• A history of uplifting teammates through code reviews, pairing, and sharing patterns, even without formal leadership roles.
• Medical: In Tandem covers 100% of the premium for employees and 99% for all additional family members.

• Personal Time Off: 15 days for 0-1 years of employment + 20 days for 1-3 years of employment.
• A supportive and flexible working environment – work from anywhere!
