Android Architect

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Latin America.

📋 Description

• You will be tasked with designing scalable and modular application architectures;

• providing in-depth technical leadership in Kotlin, Jetpack libraries, and contemporary Android development methodologies;

• collaborating closely with backend, design, and AI teams to establish system integrations, API contracts, and comprehensive technical solutions.

• This position leads daily mob-programming or collaborative engineering sessions to foster clarity, alignment, and consistent implementation across the team,

• while also reviewing intricate code for architectural integrity, performance, and maintainability.

• You'll work directly with clients and stakeholders to convert business requirements into actionable engineering plans,

• prototype new or AI-driven features to assess feasibility, and oversee the development of large, enterprise-level Android codebases to ensure long-term reliability, scalability, and technical excellence.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or a related field

• Extensive expertise in Kotlin, including a deep understanding of coroutines, flows, structured concurrency, and asynchronous programming

• Strong proficiency in advanced Kotlin features (sealed classes, inline functions, extension functions, generics, DSL construction)

• Experience in architecting and maintaining large-scale Kotlin applications in a production environment

• Ability to write idiomatic, testable, and maintainable Kotlin code adhering to modern best practices

• Familiarity with the broader Kotlin ecosystem (Ktor, Kotlinx libraries, Gradle Kotlin DSL, etc.)

• Experience in designing and working with scalable architectures, including distributed systems, high-availability patterns, and performance-oriented design

• Interest or experience working at the cutting edge of AI, including integrating AI services, building AI-driven features, or collaborating with ML/AI engineering teams

• Strong verbal communication skills, with the clarity and confidence to lead or actively facilitate daily mob-programming sessions

• Experience with modern IDEs, source control systems, and continuous integration pipelines

• Comfortable working with extensive codebases and navigating complex, evolving architectures
