Senior Analytics Engineer – Databricks, Semantic Layer, AI Readiness

📋 Description

• Execution of Databricks ingestion and warehouse processes.

• Delivery of gold models, marts, and the semantic layer.

• Ensuring the data layer is ready for Genie and AI applications.

• Monitoring, validating, and maintaining data quality.

• Facilitating stakeholder enablement and promoting warehouse usage.

• Providing support for financial and business reporting.

• Fostering team collaboration and improving working methods.

• Collaborating closely with the BI Lead to transform roadmap objectives into tangible technical outputs.

• Offering effort estimations, analyzing implementation trade-offs, and assessing delivery risks.

• Engaging in code reviews, documentation, and establishing shared standards for SQL, notebooks, jobs, and data assets.

• Enhancing self-service analytics by developing reusable assets and minimizing manual workflows.

⛳️ Requirements

• Proficient in SQL and possess strong Python skills.

• Practical experience with Databricks, Spark, Delta Lake, or a comparable modern cloud data platform.

• Experience in constructing and managing ELT/ETL pipelines, particularly with incremental or CDC-based approaches.

• Knowledge of dimensional modeling, marts, semantic layers, and warehouse-centric business logic.

• Experience in supporting self-service analytics or BI platforms utilized by various teams.

• Capability to collaborate directly with stakeholders and convert complex business requirements into structured data products.

• Strong habits in debugging, validation, and documentation.

• Preferred: Experience with Power BI, Grafana, dbt, Airflow, Kafka, or similar tools.

• Familiarity with Unity Catalog, fine-grained access patterns, or governed data products.

• Exposure to natural-language BI, semantic metadata, or preparing datasets for AI-oriented analytics tools.

• Experience in financial, trading, or cryptocurrency-related environments.

• Acquainted with GitLab, Jira, notebooks, and collaborative analytics development workflows.
