• In the role of Senior Analyst – Development, you will take charge of designing and implementing comprehensive analytics initiatives aimed at assessing and conveying performance across various fundraising channels, particularly focusing on email and SMS/text messaging.
• This position will act as the subject matter expert for email and text performance, collaborating closely with Marketing, Fundraising, and Data teams to create measurement frameworks, which include experimentation and test-and-learn methodologies.
• Your analytical insights will aid program, channel, and audience strategies, assisting business stakeholders in grasping impacts, risks, and opportunities.
• Perform essential quantitative and qualitative analyses of fundraising efforts, including email and SMS/text programs, to guide and support strategic decision-making.
• Develop engaging, data-driven narratives with actionable insights that illustrate a profound understanding of development strategies, lifecycle marketing, and performance drivers.
• Offer insights into present and future performance trends through detailed analytical projects, including measurement of experimentation.
• Lead performance discussions with strategy and campaign stakeholders to promote informed, data-driven decision-making.
• Act as the analytics subject matter expert for email and SMS/text channels, spearheading the creation of performance and measurement frameworks that encompass consistent metric definitions, experimentation design, and evaluation methodologies.
• Collaborate with marketing partners, strategy stakeholders, campaign architects, data scientists, and data engineers to translate business inquiries into scalable analytical solutions, dashboards, and measurement frameworks.
• Convert intricate business requirements and analytical results into user-friendly visual presentations that reveal patterns, trends, and opportunities.
• Effectively communicate insights through various visualization formats tailored for both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Enhance or create self-service analytics tools, such as dashboards, scorecards, or forecasting tools, utilizing a solid understanding of development and lifecycle marketing strategies.
• Contribute to the development and maintenance of data infrastructure and integrity to foster meaningful donor and prospect experiences, participating actively in data governance and Data Steward communities.
• Foster continuous learning within the Development Analytics team by sharing subject matter expertise through mentorship, documentation, and training sessions.
• Collaborate on cross-functional analytical projects to deepen understanding of the impacts of development strategies.
• Leverage strong communication skills and curiosity to establish trusted partnerships across business teams.
• Represent ALSAC–St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital in a positive manner, showcasing our dedication to excellence in fundraising and support of our mission.
• A minimum of 3 years of experience in marketing or development analytics, concentrating on Lifecycle marketing analytics, email and SMS/text performance measurement, and experimentation and test-and-learn measurement frameworks.
• Practical experience in measuring email and SMS/text programs at scale, which includes performance reporting, metric definition, and experimentation analysis.
• A proven history of driving measurable performance enhancements and influencing strategy through trusted collaboration, effective communication, and intellectual curiosity.
• Extensive proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Access, and PowerPoint.
• Intermediate SQL coding skills, including the ability to query MSSQL databases.
• Experience with CRM/CDP platforms, such as Salesforce Marketing Cloud.
• Familiarity with texting platforms like Hustle and Mobile Commons.
• Experience with analytics tools such as Adobe Analytics and Tableau.
• Proficiency in data preparation and transformation tools like Tableau Prep, Alteryx, or similar platforms.
• Experience in developing dashboard visualizations using tools such as Tableau, Power BI, Looker, SAP, or similar BI tools.
• Awareness of data pipelines and analytical workflows that support scalable reporting.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills for engaging both internal and external audiences.
• Capability to understand and act upon complex verbal or written instructions.
• Ability to excel and collaborate effectively within a matrixed organization.
• Demonstrated aptitude for translating complex technical concepts into clear, comprehensible insights for non-technical business partners.
• A Bachelor’s degree is preferred (e.g., in Finance, Mathematics, Statistics, Information Systems, Data Analytics, or Data Science), or equivalent relevant experience of at least 3 years.
