Senior Algorithm Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Engage in and oversee the complete lifecycle of biosignal-based algorithm development for medical devices, encompassing specifications and requirements gathering, data curation and labeling, development, failure analysis, production, maintenance, and documentation.

• Choose, implement, and develop suitable methods for each challenge, including identifying when deep learning or alternative methods are most effective.

• Enhance internal deep learning and machine learning tools to boost team efficiency, introduce model architectures and algorithmic techniques, and refine code for reusability and swift experimentation.

• Advance best practices for user-friendly, well-documented, thoroughly tested algorithm implementations, which include unit tests, comprehensive documentation, continuous integration, and non-regression testing.

• Present findings to key stakeholders and assist with the application of algorithms for client engagement.

• Support client-facing projects and influence the impact of Beacon algorithms for customers across both deployed and upcoming algorithms.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 5 years of industry experience in machine learning and deep learning, particularly within health sciences or other regulated sectors.

• Demonstrated success in bringing algorithms into production.

• Experience with digital signal processing (DSP) and statistical methods.

• Proficiency in PyTorch (preferred) or other deep learning frameworks.

• Familiarity with current advancements in deep learning, including Transformer/ViT, large-scale modeling, and extensive model training.

• Strong grasp of best practices in software and ML engineering, including testing, version control, code reviews, documentation, Dockerization, CI/CD, and experiment tracking.

• Experience with biosignals, medical imaging data, or large time-series datasets, or a strong interest in expanding knowledge in this area.

• Ability to simplify, discuss, and present complex technical subjects appropriately for both internal and external audiences.

• Enthusiasm for participating in the entire algorithm development lifecycle, including scoping, data wrangling, experimentation, formal validation, quality/regulatory documentation, production deployment, and client collaboration.
