This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Serbia.
• Develop and enhance inventory demand forecasting models utilizing machine learning and statistical techniques.
• Take ownership of machine learning models through the entire lifecycle: data collection, feature engineering, training, deployment, monitoring, and iteration.
• Create decision-making systems that assist in inventory planning, pricing strategies, and demand management.
• Construct and oversee data pipelines and API integrations for both external and internal data sources.
• Handle complex real-world data to ensure the reliability of models via thorough validation and testing.
• Implement LLM/AI-agent workflows to convert domain knowledge into automated processes.
• Work autonomously within a small team, prioritizing tasks, overcoming obstacles, and clearly communicating trade-offs.
• Over 5 years of experience in Python for production machine learning systems (beyond notebooks and research).
• Extensive knowledge of statistical modeling, including ensemble methods, kNN, calibration, cross-validation, and feature engineering.
• Proficiency in time-series modeling and forecasting, covering aspects like seasonality, trend decomposition, safety stock, and demand planning.
• Demonstrated success in deploying machine learning models that influence significant business decisions (forecasting, pricing, demand planning).
• Strong understanding of complex real-world data, including bias correction, handling stale signals, error cancellation, and managing distribution shifts.
• Experience in API integration and large-scale data pipeline architecture.
• Practical experience with LLM/AI-agent workflows, encompassing prompt engineering and evaluation frameworks.
• Ability to rigorously validate models: LOO, backtesting, and assessing production versus offline metric discrepancies.
• Self-motivated and adept at thriving in a fast-paced, small team environment.
• Experience in Amazon marketplace, e-commerce, or retail analytics is a plus.
• Familiarity with similarity-based methods (kNN, embeddings, vector search) is a plus.
