This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Costa Rica.
• Design, develop, test, and sustain GenAI applications, AI agents, and agentic workflows utilizing Python and contemporary AI frameworks.
• Construct and deploy AI agents leveraging Strands and AWS Bedrock AgentCore.
• Create and implement LLM-driven applications through model selection, RAG architectures, vector databases, and knowledge bases.
• Develop and maintain Python APIs and backend services, including RESTful APIs and microservice architectures.
• Formulate prompt engineering strategies and assess LLM and agent responses.
• Design and oversee document processing and data workflows, encompassing PDF extraction, document transformation, structured output generation, and computer vision processing.
• Establish and maintain knowledge bases and vector database implementations.
• Enhance AI and application architectures for optimal performance, reduced latency, and cost efficiency regarding infrastructure/models.
• Implement secure authentication and authorization protocols for APIs, services, and integrations.
• Contribute to CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, monitoring, logging, deployment, and production support.
• Diagnose complex issues across AI applications, agents, APIs, integrations, data workflows, and infrastructure.
• Collaborate with product managers, engineers, QA, and other stakeholders to grasp requirements and deliver dependable AI-powered solutions.
• 5+ years of professional software development experience, with substantial expertise in Python.
• Practical experience in developing GenAI applications, LLM-driven applications, or AI agents.
• Extensive knowledge of Python, API design, RESTful APIs, and backend application development.
• Experience in building and deploying AI agents utilizing agentic frameworks, especially Strands.
• Familiarity with AWS Bedrock AgentCore or comparable platforms.
• Strong understanding of LLM application patterns, including model selection, RAG architecture, prompt engineering, and vector databases.
• Experience in evaluating LLM responses, including evaluation frameworks, metrics, testing strategies, and assessment methods.
• Experience in constructing knowledge bases and document processing pipelines, including PDF extraction and document transformation.
• Familiarity with vector databases and retrieval functionalities.
• Experience with microservices architectures, secure authentication and authorization practices, and application integrations.
• Experience in maintaining CI/CD pipelines and implementing automated testing and deployment methodologies.
• Proficiency with monitoring and logging solutions.
• Experience in optimizing performance, latency, and cost efficiency of applications or AI systems.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills within an Agile, cross-functional setting.
• Ability to work autonomously, take ownership of complex projects, and engage in continuous learning.
• Candidates must reside in and possess authorization to work in Costa Rica.
• Nice-to-have: Experience with AWS AI application services, computer vision, image processing, curve digitization, advanced document processing, production-grade AI agents, multi-agent systems, AI evaluation platforms, and application modernization.
