Senior AI Engineer, Javascript/React

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Brazil.

📋 Description

• Technical Leadership: Establish architectural standards for Generative AI solutions, influencing design choices that affect multiple teams and products.

• Conversational Solutions Development: Create, develop, and integrate comprehensive AI solutions with an emphasis on scalability and maintainability.

• AI Agents & Automation: Develop and enhance AI agents and intelligent automation, including multi-agent workflows where relevant, to address real business and engineering challenges at scale.

• AI-Assisted Engineering: Investigate and adopt AI-assisted development methodologies (such as code generation, refactoring, and testing support) to enhance our software development lifecycle.

• AI Security & Governance: Establish and implement strong security protocols for language models, with particular attention to mitigating risks like prompt injection and sensitive data exposure (ensuring compliance with healthcare/HIPAA regulations).

• System Integration: Link Generative AI models with internal APIs, creating reusable integration patterns for the team.

• POC Lifecycle Management: Oversee POCs from technical ideation through validation, quality assurance, and transition to production, including feasibility evaluations and architecture trade-off decisions.

• Quality & Testing: Develop and refine testing pipelines for non-deterministic processes (Generative AI), ensuring precise responses regarding benefits and eligibility.

• Technical Mentorship: Foster the development of mid-level and junior engineers through code reviews, pair programming, and knowledge sharing.

• Cross-functional Collaboration: Serve as the technical authority in discussions with Product Managers, technical leads, and QA teams, translating business objectives into architectural strategies.

⛳️ Requirements

• Professional Experience: 5 to 8 years of experience in Software Engineering, with a minimum of 1 year dedicated to Artificial Intelligence / Machine Learning projects, including leading projects or technical teams.

• Programming Languages: Proficient in Python, JavaScript, React, and extensive experience in API development (FastAPI, Flask, or similar), with strong emphasis on design best practices and performance optimization.

• Generative AI & LLMs: Demonstrated experience constructing applications utilizing LLMs (OpenAI, Anthropic, Llama, etc.), advanced prompt engineering, RAG (Retrieval-Augmented Generation) architectures, vector databases, and embeddings, including design trade-off evaluations (chunking, retrieval strategies).

• AI Agents: Experience in developing or integrating AI agents using orchestration frameworks like LangChain, LlamaIndex, Semantic Kernel, or similar.

• Cloud Ecosystem (AWS): Extensive experience in creating cloud-native solutions, ideally within the AWS ecosystem (AWS Bedrock, Lambda, API Gateway, DynamoDB), with the capability to make architectural decisions regarding cost, performance, and scalability.

• Best Practices & MLOps: Strong experience with version control (Git), CI/CD pipelines, and automated testing applied to Machine Learning systems (MLOps), including monitoring and observability of production models.

• Architectural Vision: Capability to assess and propose comprehensive architectures for AI solutions, taking into account security, scalability, cost, and maintainability.

• Nice-to-Haves:

• Anthropic certification (e.g., Claude/API certifications) is advantageous.

• Familiarity with multi-agent orchestration frameworks such as LangGraph, CrewAI, AutoGen, or similar.

• Experience with AI-assisted modernization and legacy migration strategies.

• Exposure to the healthcare sector (Healthtech), with a comprehension of health plan workflows, claims, and medical data protection.

• Experience with Kubernetes, containers, and infrastructure automation.

• Previous experience mentoring or providing technical leadership to other engineers.
