This is a fully remote position, open to applicants anywhere in the world.
• Develop production-grade software utilizing code and Supernal's proprietary platform, which encompasses backend services, data models, and CRUD applications.
• Create and manage integrations with external systems (APIs, webhooks, third-party tools, and data sources) that enable AI Employees to function securely.
• Design, implement, and launch conversational agents, incorporating multi-turn flows, state management, and tool utilization.
• Take ownership of the complete technical delivery for high-priority customer implementations, from architectural design to production deployment.
• Convert customer requirements and SOWs into precise technical designs, execution plans, and deliverables.
• Make and take responsibility for architectural decisions regarding application design, API integrations, LLM orchestration, RAG design, and workflow breakdown.
• Address real-world voice system challenges such as latency, interruptions, fallbacks, error handling, and recovery from failures.
• Develop automated tests — including unit tests for isolated logic and end-to-end tests for comprehensive system and user journey validation.
• Implement robust error handling: differentiate between retryable and fatal failures, provide meaningful error messages, and prevent silent failures.
• Proactively debug complex production issues involving agent logic, prompts, integrations, and external dependencies.
• Collaborate with delivery and product leadership to oversee timelines, scope, and technical trade-offs throughout implementation.
• Assess technical work for quality, scalability, and maintainability, establishing a high standard for engineering excellence.
• Define, document, and refine best practices for constructing and delivering reliable AI Employees.
• Possess **4+ years** of experience as a software engineer, automation engineer, or systems architect responsible for deploying production systems.
• Have a solid understanding of **multi-turn conversation design**, including state management, context windows, interruption handling, and seamless recovery.
• Experience addressing **real-time constraints** in production environments: latency budgets, streaming audio, fallback pathways, and API unpredictability.
• Hands-on experience deploying **voice agents** using leading platforms (e.g., ElevenLabs, Retell, Nextiva), including telephony and streaming audio integration methodologies.
• Regularly write **automated tests** — unit tests, integration tests, and end-to-end workflow validations — viewing testing as part of the development process rather than an afterthought.
• Apply strong **engineering fundamentals**: effective error handling, retry strategies, separation of concerns, and clean interfaces between components.
• Comfortable taking full accountability for delivery outcomes — encompassing timelines, reliability, and client success — beyond just coding.
• Extensive experience with agentic architectures and APIs, having delivered real integrations in production environments.
• Knowledgeable in LLM orchestration, prompt engineering, function calling, and retrieval-augmented generation (RAG).
• Capable of rapid prototyping *and* bringing projects to production quality — including tests, error handling, monitoring, and runbooks.
• An exceptional debugger who can navigate edge cases, unstable agents, and real-world API failures.
• **Communicate clearly and fluently in English** — both in written and verbal forms — especially when discussing technical decisions, trade-offs, and implementation strategies with both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Provide your own computer with reliable, high-speed internet and be willing to work within Americas time zones.
• Able to conduct meetings, facilitate decision-making, deliver concise updates, and pose the right questions promptly — without requiring extensive processes.
• Excel in dynamic, uncertain startup environments and take initiative without needing direction.
• Approach collaboration and leadership with a low-ego, high-integrity mindset.
• Competitive salary and performance-based bonuses.
• Flexible work hours and remote working options.
• Opportunities for professional development and continuous learning.
• Collaborative and innovative work environment.
• Health, dental, and vision insurance coverage.
• Paid time off and holiday leave.
