Senior AI Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Develop and deliver essential product features, systems, and infrastructure.

• Transform rapid, AI-enhanced prototypes into dependable, scalable, production-level software.

• Take ownership of architecture, security, quality, and technical direction for significant components of the product.

• Leverage tools such as Codex, Claude Code, and contemporary AI coding agents to substantially boost engineering productivity.

• Manage, assess, and oversee agentic development workflows while ensuring robust human oversight.

• Contribute to defining the team's approach to building: engineering standards, architectural patterns, review processes, and AI-oriented workflows.

• Collaborate closely with founders on product development, strategy, technical trade-offs, and execution.

• Troubleshoot complex issues, make high-stakes technical decisions, and elevate the overall standards of engineering.

⛳️ Requirements

• 8–12+ years of experience in developing and delivering real production software.

• Extensive experience managing systems utilized by real users, encompassing production incidents, scalability, reliability, and long-term maintainability.

• AI is integral to your workflow: you routinely use tools like Codex, Claude Code, Cursor, or comparable AI coding tools.

• You possess the knowledge to utilize AI agents to enhance your productivity while ensuring control over quality, security, and architecture.

• Strong foundational knowledge in software engineering, covering architecture, debugging, system design, and code quality.

• Keen security instincts and the capability to recognize where AI-generated code may pose risks.

• Excellent judgment regarding the strengths and limitations of AI tools, including when human expertise is necessary.

• A robust ownership mentality: you actively seek responsibility, tackle ambiguity, and confront challenging technical issues.

• Experience in startups, 0→1 projects, as a founder, first engineer, or in early-stage product development.

• You have experience as a founder, first engineer, or early technical leader.

• You have worked on enterprise, security, compliance, infrastructure, or mission-critical systems.

• You have developed products that incorporate AI agents, developer tools, AI infrastructure, governance, or automation.

• You maintain a strong public portfolio: open-source projects, technical writing, demonstrations, talks, or content related to AI-native development.
