This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Oregon.
• Design, develop, test, and maintain applications driven by machine learning, generative AI, and data analysis.
• Convert business and user requirements into technical specifications, solution designs, and implementation strategies.
• Develop and integrate AI functionalities such as natural language processing, retrieval-augmented generation, chatbots, document processing, classification, forecasting, anomaly detection, and recommendation systems.
• Prepare, cleanse, transform, and analyze both structured and unstructured datasets.
• Choose appropriate algorithms, models, frameworks, and evaluation techniques.
• Fine-tune models and prompts to enhance accuracy, relevance, reliability, latency, and cost-effectiveness.
• Collaborate with data scientists and software engineers to transition prototypes and models into production environments.
• Create application components, APIs, services, and integrations that securely provide AI capabilities.
• Implement automated testing, version control, configuration management, and reproducible deployment practices.
• Support infrastructure-as-code and cloud deployment initiatives.
• Contribute to CI/CD pipelines for delivering applications, data, and models.
• Establish logging, monitoring, observability, and operational checks.
• Address issues related to data quality, model drift, bias, hallucinations, performance, security, and maintainability.
• Document model architectures, data sources, experiments, evaluation outcomes, assumptions, limitations, operating procedures, and risks.
• Engage in Agile ceremonies, sprint planning, demonstrations, retrospectives, peer reviews, and technical working groups.
• Convey technical insights and recommendations to both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Adhere to security, privacy, accessibility, compliance, and data governance standards.
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, software engineering, artificial intelligence, machine learning, data science, mathematics, or a related area; equivalent professional experience may be accepted.
• A minimum of five years of experience in software development, machine learning engineering, data engineering, or a similar field.
• Expertise in Python and at least one additional programming language such as JavaScript, TypeScript, Java, or R.
• Practical experience with machine learning principles, model development, evaluation, and performance enhancement.
• Familiarity with AI or deep learning frameworks like PyTorch, TensorFlow, scikit-learn, Hugging Face, or similar tools.
• Experience in developing APIs, services, or production applications that utilize or deliver AI functionalities.
• Proficient in Git-based development, automated testing, and CI/CD methodologies.
• Solid understanding of cloud platforms and cloud-native development approaches.
• Experience in data preparation, feature engineering, structured and unstructured data handling, and data quality practices.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and documentation abilities.
• Must be a US citizen and successfully pass a governmental-level background check.
