Senior AI Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Poland.

📋 Description

• Develop and deliver essential product features, systems, and infrastructure.

• Transform rapidly evolving, AI-supported prototypes into dependable, scalable, production-ready software.

• Oversee architecture, security, quality, and technical direction across significant components of the product.

• Utilize tools like Codex, Claude Code, and contemporary AI coding agents to significantly enhance engineering productivity.

• Guide, assess, and manage agentic development workflows while ensuring robust human oversight.

• Contribute to defining team processes: engineering standards, architectural patterns, review practices, and AI-native workflows.

• Collaborate closely with founders on product development, strategic planning, technical trade-offs, and execution.

• Troubleshoot intricate issues, make critical technical decisions, and elevate the overall engineering standards.

⛳️ Requirements

• 8–12+ years of experience in building and deploying real production software.

• Proven experience managing systems utilized by actual users, including handling production incidents, scalability, reliability, and long-term sustainability.

• AI is integral to your workflow: you utilize tools like Codex, Claude Code, Cursor, or similar AI coding tools on a daily basis.

• You understand how to leverage AI agents to amplify your output while keeping control over quality, security, and architecture.

• Strong foundation in software engineering principles covering architecture, debugging, system design, and code quality.

• Keen security instincts with the ability to pinpoint where AI-generated code may pose risks.

• Superior judgment regarding the strengths and limitations of AI tools, including identifying situations where human expertise is essential.

• A proactive ownership mindset: you embrace responsibility, navigate ambiguity, and tackle challenging technical issues.

• Experience in startups, particularly in 0→1 environments, as a founder, first engineer, or in early-stage product roles.

• Bonus Points: Experience as a founder, first engineer, or early technical leader.

• Background in enterprise, security, compliance, infrastructure, or mission-critical systems.

• Experience building products that incorporate AI agents, developer tools, AI infrastructure, governance, or automation.

• Experience in designing or managing agentic coding workflows at scale.

• A notable public portfolio: contributions to open-source projects, technical publications, demonstrations, presentations, or content related to AI-native development.
