Senior AI Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Illinois.

📋 Description

• Take charge of the design and ongoing development of essential capabilities within our internal AI agent platform, aimed at enhancing impactful business workflows and AI agents.

• Establish and refine deployment strategies, shared services, and orchestration methods that allow intricate agent use cases to operate consistently.

• Collaborate with business stakeholders to translate top-priority strategic objectives into scalable AI agent solutions.

• Engage directly with builders to troubleshoot issues, address technical inquiries, and facilitate daily development while simultaneously enhancing the foundational platform.

• Examine failing repositories, execute code locally when necessary, and resolve infrastructure or environmental issues at their source.

• Develop and sustain shared services—such as reusable modules, integration layers, logging methodologies, and data access strategies—that can be utilized by multiple teams.

• Lead decisions regarding observability, governance, permissions, reliability, and cost-effective usage to guarantee that our AI transformation remains sustainable and secure.

• Assist in establishing the technical direction for designing new capabilities to ensure we build robust foundations instead of temporary solutions.

• Work collaboratively across engineering and business teams to identify and cultivate new high-value opportunities for innovation driven by agents.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience in software engineering, platform engineering, solutions engineering, infrastructure engineering, or a related technical field.

• Proven expertise in designing and deploying production-ready systems encompassing APIs, services, integrations, and data flows.

• Familiarity with cloud environments and contemporary application deployment methodologies.

• Proficient in troubleshooting intricate technical challenges spanning infrastructure, application logic, and third-party integrations.

• Previous experience in developing internal platforms, shared services, developer tools, or reusable technical foundations.

• Solid understanding of system design, reliability, scalability, and security aspects.

• Demonstrated capability to take ownership of ambiguous technical challenges and guide them from conception to execution.

• Experience in defining technical patterns, processes, or standards that serve as a reference for other builders.

• Practical experience with AI-driven applications, agent architectures, LLM-based workflows, or related systems.

• Excellent communication skills with a proven track record of cross-functional collaboration in a dynamic environment.

• Comfort in dealing with uncertainty and a strong builder mentality, coupled with a focus on practical implementation.
