This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United Kingdom.
• Act as a senior technical and architectural consultant for select financial services clients.
• Facilitate technical discovery sessions, architecture workshops, design evaluations, and continuous collaboration meetings.
• Transform client business objectives into AI roadmaps, architectural decisions, implementation strategies, and technical specifications.
• Design secure AI applications and autonomous workflows utilizing Azure, Microsoft 365, SharePoint, Microsoft Entra ID, Azure AI Foundry, enterprise data platforms, APIs, and approved AI models.
• Establish identity, permissions, data access, networking, secrets management, logging, auditing, human-review, and least-privilege controls.
• Assess architectural decisions and technical risks related to models, retrieval, memory, integrations, deployment, security, cost, resilience, maintainability, and production supportability.
• Transition validated prototypes and proofs of concept into architecture ready for implementation, including scope, assumptions, standards, and acceptance criteria.
• Provide architectural guidance to AI Engineers by reviewing code, evidence, testing, deployment plans, and documentation.
• Identify and relay risks associated with architecture, delivery, security, capacity, vendor relations, and client dependencies.
• Assist in establishing Atlas Technica’s AI Center of Excellence based in Ukraine.
• Mentor AI Engineers and aspiring architects.
• Design and implement AI lab and validation environments, comprising test scenarios, evaluation criteria, evidence requirements, and production-readiness checkpoints.
• Investigate, test, and validate emerging AI platforms, agents, connectors, security controls, and architectural patterns.
• Over 10 years of experience in software, cloud, data, security, solution architecture, or related technical fields.
• Extensive experience in leading intricate architectural decisions.
• Practical experience in designing and delivering production-ready AI, machine learning, data, or autonomous systems.
• Strong expertise in Microsoft Azure architecture, including application hosting, identity, networking, storage, databases, logging, security, and deployment models.
• Hands-on experience with Azure AI Foundry, Azure OpenAI, or similar AI platforms, RAG, embeddings, vector or hybrid search, and agent orchestration.
• Familiarity with designing APIs, data integrations, secure connectors, and MCP or similar tool integration patterns.
• In-depth knowledge of Microsoft 365, SharePoint, Microsoft Entra ID, role-based access control, Microsoft Graph, and least-privilege access design.
• Working proficiency in Python and capability to review implementation code, scripts, infrastructure definitions, technical logs, and engineering outputs.
• Significant experience in designing secure systems with environment separation, identity and access controls, secrets management, audit logging, observability, and human-review safeguards.
• Ability to assess technical risk and differentiate between prototypes and production-ready solutions.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.
• Experience in communications with senior client executives, portfolio managers, quantitative teams, developers, security leaders, and other stakeholders.
• Experience in mentoring engineers, providing technical guidance, and delegating implementation tasks.
• Excellent client-facing, communication, documentation, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
• Desirable: experience in supporting hedge funds, private equity firms, asset managers, banks, or regulated financial institutions.
• Desirable: familiarity with Microsoft Purview, Defender for Cloud Apps, Microsoft Intune, data-loss prevention, sensitivity labels, and compliance-focused logging.
• Desirable: knowledge of Azure Functions, Azure Container Apps, Azure SQL, PostgreSQL, Cosmos DB, Snowflake, Docker, CI/CD, GitHub Actions, and Infrastructure as Code.
• Desirable: experience in evaluating AI applications for security, architectural integrity, and production readiness.
• Desirable: experience in establishing an architecture practice, technical review board, Center of Excellence, offshore engineering capability, or similar governance structure.
