This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Ohio.
• Facilitates the growth of healthcare by converting customer application requirements into effective materials, designs, tooling, processing, and validation solutions.
• Collaborates with customers, commercial teams, product management, manufacturing, and quality to progress new applications from concept to launch.
• Assists in troubleshooting, resolving complaints, and providing technical training.
• Conducts interviews with customers to gather application requirements, performance expectations, design limitations, and processing criteria.
• Suggests suitable engineered thermoplastics and thermoplastic elastomers for healthcare-related applications.
• Aids in application development through part design, input on mold tooling, processing advice, prototyping, testing, and validation support.
• Utilizes CAE tools such as SolidWorks, Moldflow, and FEA to assess designs and deliver actionable recommendations.
• Engages in new product development by capturing market and application requirements and assisting with launch-ready technical packages.
• Supports customer complaint resolution, process troubleshooting, and technical issue inquiries as necessary.
• Creates technical documentation, training materials, and presentations for customers and internal stakeholders.
• Travels up to 60% within North America to assist with customer interactions, trials, and technical service operations.
• A bachelor’s degree in Plastics Engineering, Polymer Science, Chemistry, Materials Science, Mechanical Engineering, or a related engineering discipline is required.
• An advanced degree or equivalent technical experience is preferred.
• A minimum of seven years of relevant experience is preferred, including internships or co-op experience where applicable.
• Experience in healthcare, medical device, biopharmaceutical tubing, or regulated manufacturing is preferred.
• Familiarity with healthcare application requirements, quality systems, and regulatory standards is preferred.
• A strong grasp of plastics processing, including profile extrusion, tubing, injection molding, and associated processes is required.
• Experience with thermoforming, blown film, or other healthcare-related conversion processes is preferred.
• Proficient in CAE software such as SolidWorks, Moldflow, and FEA.
• A solid understanding of part design, mold design, tooling considerations, and the fundamentals of plastic processing.
• Capability to interpret technical data sheets, safety data sheets, test results, and application needs.
• Proven ability to address technical challenges with speed, precision, and practical judgment.
• Ability to devise innovative, customer-centric solutions for emerging healthcare applications.

• Communicates effectively with both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Presents recommendations, outcomes, and trade-offs in a coherent, actionable manner.
