This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Spain.
• Take ownership of intricate technical challenges that Operations or Development teams have been unable to address.
• Analyze tag defects, rendering issues, consent problems, bid path complications, and unanticipated revenue behavior.
• Replicate issues utilizing live publisher inventory and controlled staging environments.
• Determine root causes and differentiate between structural limitations and configuration issues that can be rectified.
• Create clear technical specifications or patched tag implementations prior to transferring the work to Development.
• Examine publisher implementations directly at the browser level.
• Utilize Prebid debugging, network requests, browser consoles, HAR files, and consent string examination.
• Validate request ordering, consent propagation, and bidding behavior against the intended configuration.
• Confirm resolutions in live environments before considering an issue fully resolved.
• Conduct structured audits across publisher monetization stacks.
• Review Prebid configuration, Google Ad Manager, Amazon APS, CMP and TCF implementation, floor models, ad units, identity solutions, video, SSP health, and bidder performance.
• Evaluate findings and generate action plans prioritized by impact and severity.
• Monitor technical changes across Google, Amazon APS, Prebid.js, SSP partners, and the IAB Tech Lab.
• Assess ecosystem changes impacting the Refinery89 stack and publisher implementations.
• Translate findings into technical recommendations and escalate decisions that require Product or Development involvement.
• Assist in phased technical rollouts utilizing defined success metrics.
• Establish validation criteria and rollback conditions.
• Test implementations in staging environments before handing off to Development.
• Track performance post-deployment and validate results against agreed thresholds.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in programmatic advertising technology, preferably in publisher monetization or the supply side.
• Extensive hands-on experience in diagnosing and debugging live advertising environments.
• In-depth working knowledge of Prebid.js, encompassing configuration, adapters, modules, identity solutions, floors, and debugging.
• Capability to inspect and comprehend bidder adapter source code when documentation alone is insufficient.
• Strong technical expertise in Google Ad Manager, including line items, pricing rules, AdX, dynamic allocation, GPT implementations, and MCM models.
• Comprehensive understanding of IAB TCF 2.x and GDPR consent mechanics, including the propagation of consent across Prebid, GAM, and Amazon APS.
• Familiarity with OpenRTB and supply chain transparency standards such as ads.txt, sellers.json, and schain.
• Proficient in JavaScript, with the ability to read, modify, and validate production advertising tags.
• Advanced skills in browser developer tools including network inspection, HAR analysis, and console debugging.
• Ability to craft structured technical documentation that a developer can execute without requiring extensive additional explanation.
• Professional proficiency in English at C1/C2 level.
• Prior professional experience in AdTech is essential.
• Remote work within compatible EU time zones.
• A temporary 6-month contractor agreement with the potential for extension.
