This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New York.
• Take ownership of claims and savings projections along with retrospective analyses for Maven's employer benefit programs, which include performance guarantee assessments, value-based care arrangement modeling, and spend and enrollment projections across Maven's comprehensive program portfolio.
• Develop, maintain, and enhance Maven's actuarial and ROI models in Excel, ensuring methodological soundness while integrating these models into team workflows for self-service utilization.
• Execute actuarial confidence evaluations to guide revenue recognition decisions and assess financial risks associated with value-based arrangements.
• Assist in RFP responses by providing actuarial projections, benchmarking data, and documentation of methodologies.
• Conduct detailed claims analytics for both individual and pooled client populations, including assessing performance guarantees based on claims data evaluations.
• Participate in sales and client success discussions, including interactions with brokers and benefits consultants, to communicate with authority on outcomes methodology, ROI, and actuarial assumptions.
• Contribute to thought leadership through the creation of white papers, research publications, and participation in industry conferences, while partnering with Marketing to engage actuarial and benefits audiences.
• Oversee external actuarial vendor relationships, acting as the owner and subject matter expert on scoping and quality of deliverables.
• An FSA, ASA, or equivalent actuarial credential (or significant progress toward credentialing), or a graduate degree accompanied by 6+ years of directly relevant actuarial or healthcare analytics experience.
• Proficient in analysis design, modeling, and data manipulation, with an aptitude for synthesizing findings into clear, client-ready outputs.
• Comfortable working in both a coding language (preferably SQL) and Excel, with a strong capability to leverage AI for producing and quality-assuring code for data exploration and analysis.
• Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to present to external audiences (e.g., clients), including experience in conveying technical material to non-technical audiences.
• Strong project management instincts, capable of managing competing priorities and self-directing in an unstructured environment.
• Extensive familiarity with healthcare claims data, encompassing medical and pharmacy claims structures, PMPM/PBPM cost modeling, and trend analysis.
