This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.

📋 Description

• Compile and evaluate data for Part D, creating comparisons between actual outcomes and forecasts.

• Assist with on-demand analytics including provider contracting, product development, and other tailored projects to meet business objectives.

• Efficiently leverage the Data Warehouse to generate reports and extract relevant data fields.

• Examine historical data patterns to formulate reasonable assumptions.

• Support the actuarial team in developing Medicare Advantage bid pricing by monitoring various input parameters and testing benefit scenarios.

• Aid in the financial budgeting and forecasting of pharmacy costs while continually tracking actual results.

• Proactively seek opportunities to optimize workflows, enhance model efficiency, and automate existing processes.

• Bring a sense of intellectual curiosity and a commitment to continuous improvement to all assigned tasks, questioning the status quo when necessary.


⛳️ Requirements

• A bachelor’s degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics, or any other discipline with substantial quantitative coursework is mandatory.

• 2-4 years of actuarial experience focused on healthcare, health plans, or managed care, or equivalent actuarial consulting experience.

• Experience with Medicare, Medicaid, Part D, commercial health insurance, or network contracting for a health plan is strongly preferred.

• Work is performed under general supervision.

• Addresses moderately complex issues and refers more intricate problems to higher-level staff.

• Has a solid working knowledge of the relevant subject matter.

• Technical skills - Strong analytical abilities with proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel including formulas, V-Lookups, and pivot tables, PowerPoint, Access, Outlook, Teams) and advanced SQL is essential.

• Problem Solving - Basic problem-solving abilities along with strong mathematical skills.

• Communication - Effective written and verbal communication skills, along with good interpersonal skills.
