This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Virginia.
• Oversee the entire billing process, which involves project initiation, invoice creation, review, approval, submission, and follow-up on collections.
• Accurately prepare, reconcile, and distribute monthly invoices in a timely manner.
• Create invoices for various contract types, including Firm Fixed Price (FFP), Time & Materials (T&M), Cost Plus, and other government contracts.
• Examine contract terms and funding documents to guarantee compliance in billing and accurate invoicing.
• Ensure that all Other Direct Costs (ODCs) are billed correctly and reconciled with supporting expenses.
• Monitor unbilled balances to confirm alignment of revenue recognition and billing activities.
• Collaborate with Program Managers, Contracts, and Operations teams to address billing issues and ensure appropriate cost allocation.
• Investigate, analyze, and resolve billing discrepancies, customer inquiries, and documentation challenges.
• Submit invoices through government and customer billing portals, such as WAWF and IPP.
• Track accounts receivable aging and proactively engage with customers to facilitate timely collections and cash inflows.
• Support month-end closing activities, reconciliations, audits, and reporting obligations.
• Minimum of 7 years of experience in Accounts Receivable and/or Government Contract Billing.
• Proficiency in Deltek Costpoint.
• Experience in billing government contracts, including FFP, T&M, and Cost Plus types.
• Familiarity with government billing requirements and invoicing systems like WAWF and IPP.
• Solid understanding of accounting principles, revenue recognition, and compliance in contract billing.
• Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities with a keen attention to detail.
• Capability to juggle multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a dynamic environment.
• Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work autonomously, make sound judgments, and escalate issues as necessary.
• High degree of professionalism and discretion in managing confidential information.
• Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel.
• Preferred: experience in reviewing contract documents, modifications, and project setup criteria; experience in supporting DCAA-compliant government contracting environments; knowledge of project accounting and contract funding management.
