Accounts Receivable Representative – 3rd Party Non-Gov't Payers

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Florida, +4 more states.

📋 Description

• Prepare and submit claims for accounts to ensure timely reimbursement.

• Investigate and process refunds as necessary.

• Prepare, edit, and submit account billing in compliance with payer guidelines.

• Ensure all claim-related issues are resolved and submitted accurately and promptly according to insurance guidelines.

• Verify patients' insurance eligibility.

• Submit required system payer/fee schedule changes to the supervisor when necessary.

• Provide all necessary documentation with each claim submission.

• Update patient demographic changes and perform necessary rebilling tasks.

• Request missing documentation from clients, physicians, or patients as appropriate.

• Access client files when needed to verify information.

• Respond to verbal and written inquiries from insurance companies or responsible parties regarding account status within the established policy and procedure timeline.

• Research accounts and appropriately document follow-up actions.

• Resolve account discrepancies and prepare adjustments and refunds for necessary approvals.

• Maintain accurate and complete records of billing activities for all accounts.

• Document actions in the system records.

• Address issues as they arise.

• Keep the supervisor informed of any area or compliance issues that may lead to delays or inaccuracies in invoice or claim submissions.

• Complete all reports according to the established schedule.

• Perform additional tasks as assigned to support organizational goals.

• Demonstrate the ability to work independently.

• To work remotely, you must have high-speed internet, be hardwired into your router, and pass a speed test of at least 20 megabits (Mbit) as provided by your internet service provider.


⛳️ Requirements

• High School diploma or equivalent.

• 1-2 years of experience in Medical Billing.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office.

• Basic typing skills with a minimum of 35 words per minute.

• Intermediate knowledge of claims processing.

• Some familiarity with medical terminology is preferred.

• Basic computer skills.

• Advanced time management skills.

• Intermediate ability to identify and resolve problems.

• Intermediate analytical skills.
