This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New York.
• Month-end closing: Execute the complete closing process for both US and Canadian entities, encompassing journal entries, accruals, reconciliations, and intercompany transactions within the group. Ensure accurate and timely results each month according to the global closing schedule.
• Payroll: Oversee the entire payroll process for US and Canadian operations through Rippling, which includes onboarding new hires, managing benefits deductions, handling multi-state withholdings, and preparing year-end W-2 reports.
• Sales tax: Manage multi-state sales tax compliance via Anrok, which includes monitoring nexus, handling registrations, reviewing returns, and filing necessary documents.
• Corporate tax: Serve as the main liaison for our external tax preparers regarding federal and state corporate income tax returns, estimated payments, and any local or state filings.
• Audit: Lead the annual audit process for the US, preparing schedules, addressing auditor inquiries, and ensuring the process is smooth and well-organized.
• Revenue recognition: Implement ASC 606 for our SaaS revenue streams, document accounting positions, and ensure uniformity in treatment across the organization.
• Other compliance: Oversee 1099 reporting, state annual filings, business licenses, and various regulatory matters as they arise.
• Collaboration with FP&A: Supply timely and accurate actuals along with supporting analyses to our US FP&A team to facilitate budgeting, forecasting, and management reporting.
• A minimum of 8 years of progressively responsible accounting experience, with significant time spent in the industry (not exclusively in public accounting).
• Experience in the SaaS industry is crucial – you are familiar with subscription revenue, deferred revenue, ARR/MRR mechanics, and the common accounting challenges associated with a SaaS business model.
• CPA designation is highly preferred.
• A combination of public accounting (Big 4 or a reputable mid-tier firm) and SaaS industry experience is ideal.
• Strong knowledge of ASC 606 revenue recognition as applied to SaaS contracts.
• Practical experience with US multi-state sales tax compliance (experience with Anrok is a plus).
• Experience in leading or significantly supporting an external audit.
• Comfortable as the senior accounting professional in a small, lean US environment – you know how to be hands-on.
• Practical experience with a modern SaaS finance stack – ideally Campfire, NetSuite, or a similar ERP, along with Rippling, Brex, and Tipalti (or equivalent tools).
• Demonstrated interest in or hands-on utilization of AI tools to enhance finance workflows.
• Strong judgment on escalation matters, including when to escalate and the required level of supporting analysis – you provide options and recommendations rather than open-ended questions.
• Excellent written communication skills – much of your collaboration with the UK team will take place asynchronously.
• 💰 Participation in the company’s employee share options plan.
• 🏥 Comprehensive health coverage for you and your loved ones.
• 👪 Life Insurance.

• 🏝 Flexible PTO policy along with 11 designated company holidays.
• 📚 Annual learning and development budget.
• 🏡 We prioritize making remote work effective for you – that’s why you will receive a one-off WFH allowance upon joining, which can be used for items like noise-canceling headphones or a comfortable desk chair to enhance your comfort and focus!
• 🧡 Enhanced parental leave benefits.
• 👨👩👧 Company-funded fertility and family-forming programs.
• 🌸 Menopause care program in collaboration with Maven.
