This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in District of Columbia.
• Directly reports to the Senior Director of Sponsored Projects Financial Operations.
• Assists in achieving the tactical, strategic, and operational goals of SPFO concerning externally funded projects.
• Acts as the operational leader of the centralized core functional unit.
• Oversees sponsor billing, financial reporting, award setup reviews, and award closeouts.
• Encourages business continuity, workload redundancy, and uniform service standards across various SPFO functions.
• Actively engages in direct, hands-on management of a portfolio that includes the University’s most sensitive sponsored awards.
• A Bachelor’s Degree is required.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related discipline.
• Five to seven years of pertinent experience in sponsored projects accounting, financial reporting, or grants management.
• Strong comprehension of Federal regulations and compliance requirements associated with sponsored projects.
• Excellent leadership and team management capabilities.
• Outstanding organizational skills, with a keen attention to detail and a dedication to maintaining data integrity.
• Strong analytical, financial tracking, and problem-solving abilities.
• Proficient oral and written communication skills.
• Familiarity with OMB Uniform Guidance, federal agency, and external sponsor accounting and reporting requirements.
• Knowledge of complex accounting systems; experience with WorkDay is preferred.
