This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Oversee the monthly, quarterly, and annual closing processes, ensuring financial statements are delivered accurately and on time.
• Prepare and examine journal entries, reconciliations, accruals, and relevant schedules.
• Assess the work completed by the team and offer constructive feedback to guarantee accuracy and uniformity.
• Ensure adherence to GAAP and internal accounting standards.
• Manage revenue accounting for subscription and usage-based SaaS business models.
• Analyze customer contracts for appropriate revenue recognition in accordance with ASC 606.
• Administer deferred revenue schedules and guarantee correct revenue cutover and allocation.
• Act as a subject-matter expert for revenue-related inquiries within the team.
• Directly supervise and develop a team of accounting specialists.
• Provide continuous coaching, mentorship, and career development support.
• Conduct regular one-on-one meetings, performance evaluations, and goal-setting discussions.
• Establish clear expectations, delegate responsibilities effectively, and ensure accountability for deliverables.
• Support the onboarding and training of new team members, emphasizing best practices and documentation.
• Promote a collaborative, high-performing team culture with a focus on ongoing improvement.
• Review and enhance accounting workflows to facilitate scalability and team efficiency.
• Identify opportunities to streamline operations, minimize manual tasks, and utilize automation.
• Assist in the implementation or enhancement of accounting systems.
• Strengthen internal controls, documentation, and review processes.
• Prepare audit schedules and serve as the primary point of contact for external auditors.
• Coordinate audit requests among the team and ensure prompt, accurate responses.
• Ensure compliance with GAAP, company policies, and relevant regulatory requirements.
• Collaborate with FP&A on actuals, variance analysis, and budgeting inputs.
• Partner with Sales, Product, and Operations to provide accounting insights on new product features, pricing strategies, or monetization changes.
• Assist in translating accounting requirements for non-financial stakeholders.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA or progress toward CPA is highly preferred.
• 5–8+ years of progressive accounting experience.
• 2+ years of direct management experience, including coaching and performance oversight.
• Strong knowledge of SaaS revenue recognition (ASC 606), deferred revenue, and subscription billing practices.
• Experience with contemporary accounting systems (e.g., NetSuite).
• Demonstrated ability to lead, develop, and inspire a team in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication abilities.
• Strong attention to detail with the capability to balance precision and deadlines.
• Proven track record of improving processes and scaling accounting operations.
