• Examine BAS, financial statements, and income tax returns prepared by intermediate and senior accountants/bookkeepers.
• Review work across various entity types, including individuals, corporations, trusts, partnerships, and SMSFs where applicable.
• Detect technical issues, inconsistencies, missing details, and areas needing enhancement prior to finalizing work.
• Provide clear review feedback and practical advice to accountants to enhance work quality and minimize recurring errors.
• Ensure that tasks are completed in accordance with the firm's standards, budgets, and deadlines.
• Assist the team in enhancing workflow efficiency, quality control, and consistency across compliance assignments.
• A minimum of 6 years of experience in Australian public practice accounting, with an emphasis on tax and financial statement preparation.
• 2 years of experience in team management.
• Strong understanding of accounting principles and tax compliance regulations.
• Excellent attention to detail and organizational capabilities.
• A solid interest in creating efficiencies and challenging the status quo.
• Confident communicator, articulate in writing, and proactive in asking pertinent questions.
• A genuine interest in process improvement and developing smarter work methodologies.
• A desire to mentor less experienced team members.
