Senior Accountant – Tax Specialist

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Philippines.

📋 Description

• Prepare individual tax returns from inception to completion, encompassing analysis of income and expenses, rental property schedules, calculations of capital gains tax, sole trader schedules, and client query lists.

• Prepare Business Activity Statements (BAS) and Installment Activity Statements (IAS).

• Generate financial statements and income tax returns in Xero for sole traders, companies, and trusts.

• Utilize ATO Online Services for Agents (ATO Portal) to retrieve reports.

• Maintain and review fixed asset registers, including assessments of effective life.

• Keep precise bookkeeping records for a select group of clients.

• Handle payroll processing and compliance as necessary.

• Assist with registrations for ABN, TFN, and GST.

• Prepare documentation for ASIC annual reviews.

• Lodge ASIC amendments involving officeholders, shareholders, addresses, and company names.

• Onboard new clients in Xero Practice Manager (XPM) and document management systems.

• Assist with the paperwork for the establishment of companies, trusts, and super funds.

• Ensure procedural documentation is current.

• Identify opportunities for efficiency enhancements and value additions.

• Support various ad-hoc tax and business projects.

• Perform additional tasks as required.

⛳️ Requirements

• At least 4+ years of experience in Australian public practice tax (mandatory).

• Strong background in Business Services and Tax.

• Capability to complete tasks independently and accurately.

• Experience with Xero & Hubdoc.

• Familiarity with Xero Tax.

• Proficiency in QuickBooks / MYOB.

• Knowledge of Xero Practice Manager.

• Experience with SuiteFiles is highly preferred.

• Confident in using ATO portals.

• Exceptional attention to detail.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

• Good written and verbal communication skills in English.

• Effective time management skills and ability to meet deadlines.
