This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Assist in the month-end revenue closing process, which includes the preparation of journal entries related to revenue.
• Support the reconciliation of invoices, deposits, and other accounts associated with revenue, ensuring accuracy and prompt resolution of any discrepancies.
• Analyze customer contracts to ascertain performance obligations, establish transaction pricing, and evaluate the timing of allocation and recognition in accordance with ASC 606.
• Enhance and maintain revenue recognition documentation and memos for audit and technical accounting requirements.
• Reconcile the revenue sub-ledger with the general ledger across Salesforce, Stripe, and the contract management system in a high-volume transaction setting.
• Execute SQL queries to extract and analyze revenue data from our data warehouse (Snowflake), facilitating reconciliations, variance analysis, and on-demand investigations.
• Detect and examine data anomalies, escalate systemic issues, and collaborate with the Billings, Finance Systems, and Revenue Operations teams to address root causes.
• Develop and manage scalable reconciliation frameworks capable of handling complexity and large volumes.
• Prepare PBC schedules, technical accounting memos, and supporting documentation for external auditors (Big 4).
• Assist in ongoing revenue recognition remediation efforts and process enhancement initiatives.
• Provide support for ad hoc technical accounting research and policy documentation as the business evolves.
• Work collaboratively with Finance Systems, Revenue Operations, Legal, and Billing teams on contract reviews and the order-to-cash process design.
• A Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related discipline.
• 3–5 years of pertinent accounting experience, with a significant emphasis on revenue accounting.
• Strong understanding of ASC 606, including contract evaluation.
• Experience with high transaction volumes and the ability to work through complex and ambiguous data.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities — you meticulously analyze details and communicate your findings effectively.
• Superior communication skills; adept at working collaboratively with Billings, Legal, and Revenue Operations teams.
