
Senior Accountant – Manufacturing

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Take charge of daily accounting operations for complex manufacturing clients with minimal oversight from the Controller and CFO.
• Oversee standard costing systems, which includes managing BOM and developing overhead rates.
• Prepare and analyze monthly variances related to material, labor, and overhead costs.
• Manage and reconcile inventory valuations, including raw materials, WIP, and finished goods.
• Lead month-end COGS reviews, encompassing absorption adjustments and inventory reserve analysis.
• Provide assistance with monthly financial statements, product line profitability, and gross margin assessments.
• Identify and independently resolve intricate cost accounting discrepancies.
• Mentor Accountants informally on the principles and practices of manufacturing cost accounting.
• Create and document process improvements for manufacturing accounting cycles.
• Support the tracking of capital expenditures and the management of fixed assets.
• Implement and uphold internal controls across client accounts.
• Utilize various processes and tools, including code red alerts, to detect and prevent fraud.
• Achieve or surpass billable hour targets while ensuring exceptional service quality.
• Complete time tracking, capacity planning, and quarterly initiatives.
• Engage in the Brand Ambassador program.
• Maintain security practices to protect client assets.
• A Bachelor's degree in accounting, business administration, or an equivalent level of experience.
• Over 6 years of accounting experience with a strong focus on the manufacturing industry.
• Experience in a multi-client or Client Accounting Services (CAS) environment is highly preferred.
• Extensive knowledge in cost accounting, standard costing, inventory management, and COGS analysis.
• Proven capability to independently manage complex work for manufacturing clients.
• Proficiency with manufacturing or ERP accounting platforms.
• Demonstrated ability to informally mentor or share knowledge with junior staff members.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills with manufacturing business owners and operators.
• Ability to exercise sound judgment, proactively identify issues, and communicate effectively.
