This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Mexico, +6 more countries.
β’ Take ownership of daily accounting tasks, monthly reporting, and ERP functions for Oyster entities globally, with an emphasis on Latin America.
β’ Manage the complete accounting cycle and intercompany transactions for international subsidiaries.
β’ Prepare and review financial statements and balance-sheet reconciliations for various entities.
β’ Lead the month-end and year-end closing processes, ensuring the maintenance of clear checklists and documentation.
β’ Oversee monthly, quarterly, and annual local statutory filings, providing comprehensive support packages.
β’ Supervise local statutory audits and address auditor inquiries and adjustments.
β’ Reconcile local statutory records with the ERP system.
β’ Perform financial analysis, identify trends or discrepancies, and deliver actionable insights for decision-making.
β’ Manage assigned ERP tasks and enhance accounting standards, controls, documentation, and automation.
β’ Coordinate dependencies among Finance, Payroll, Tax, Legal, and external partners.
β’ Execute various ad hoc financial projects.
β’ Mentor junior team members with practical guidance.
β’ Collaborate asynchronously with globally distributed teams.
β’ A minimum of 5 years of accounting experience, including at least 1 year in a senior accountant role.
β’ CPA (or part-qualified) or an equivalent professional accounting certification.
β’ Strong expertise in multi-entity accounting, intercompany transactions, financial reporting, reconciliations, closing processes, and audit support.
β’ Proficient in advanced Excel, including pivot tables and handling large datasets.
β’ Exceptional attention to detail and a logical, evidence-based approach to problem-solving.
β’ Ability to manage competing deadlines while maintaining quality across multiple entities.
β’ Proficient in written and spoken English.
β’ Effective stakeholder management skills in an asynchronous work environment.
β’ Demonstrated proactive follow-through, sound judgment, and a mindset geared towards continuous improvement and automation.
β’ Reliable home internet connection.
β’ Experience with NetSuite or a similar ERP system.
β’ Background in payroll accounting or SaaS environments.
β’ Experience in high-growth startups or rapidly evolving international settings.
β’ Familiarity with accounting across EMEA jurisdictions, including local statutory reporting and local-to-group reconciliation.
