This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.
• Assist in the operations of the accounting teams while staying updated on changing business models, policies, internal controls, financial systems, procedures, and processes.
• Collaborate with various departments to aid in crucial business decisions.
• Discover opportunities for process enhancements, which includes developing both standard and ad hoc reports, tools, and dashboards.
• Generate manual journal entries for accruals, prepaids, and reserves in line with GAAP standards.
• Oversee accounting entries and sub-ledger accounting throughout the month.
• Examine monthly financial results and deliver variance analysis, trend explanations, and analytical summaries to senior management and the business.
• Detect and clarify data anomalies, exceptions, and changes to management.
• Engage in monthly, quarterly, and annual closing processes.
• Assist in the annual audit process and address various information requests as needed.
• Work with international teams to ensure the consistent implementation of accounting policies.
• Maintain data integrity for finance close documentation.
• Prepare monthly reconciliations of balance sheet accounts between sub-ledger and general ledger.
• Follow up with departments that originated transactions to resolve reconciling items and document procedures.
• Keep procedures current and up to date.
• Identify enhancements in reconciliation and reporting procedures.
• Investigate accounting issues, document findings, and communicate recommendations to management.
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting.
• Minimum of 2 years’ experience in public accounting or 4 years in accounting/finance, etc.
• Profound understanding of U.S. GAAP and internal controls.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
• Advanced Excel proficiency and experience with ERP systems.
• Continuous improvement mindset with a focus on process optimization and automation.
• Ability to collaborate effectively across teams and geographical locations.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Successful completion of a background check as a prerequisite for employment.
• CPA certification preferred.
• Experience in public accounting is a plus.
