Accounting Clerk

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Louisiana.

📋 Description

• Oversee the complete Accounts Payable process from the receipt of invoices to the payment stage.

• Handle a high volume of vendor invoices, including downloading and entering them into the accounting system.

• Keep electronic accounting records and supporting documents well-organized.

• Conduct large invoice reconciliations and submit them to department managers for approval prior to payment.

• Review vendor statements to ensure that all expenses are accurately recorded in the general ledger.

• Address invoice discrepancies and coordinate follow-ups with both vendors and internal teams.

• Manage weekly payment cycles utilizing wires, ACH, and EFT through USD and CAD accounts.

• Reconcile vendor statements and probe into any outstanding or disputed amounts.

• Provide backup support for Accounts Receivable tasks as necessary.

• Address customer inquiries via calls and emails regarding payments, account balances, and invoices.

• Process customer payments through EFT, credit card, and cheque in the accounting system and online banking.

• Carry out additional tasks as assigned.

⛳️ Requirements

• Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.

• 1–3 years of experience related to accounting (AP experience is preferred).

• Proficient in Microsoft Excel.

• Familiarity with ERP/accounting systems; experience with Microsoft Dynamics is a plus.

• Exceptional attention to detail and a strong commitment to accuracy.

• Ability to juggle multiple priorities in a fast-paced setting.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

• Capability to work independently and efficiently in a remote work environment.
