Senior Accountant

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Alaska, +8 more states.

📋 Description

• Prepare journal entries, perform analyses, and conduct account reconciliations.

• Assist in maintaining and enhancing month-end closing procedures, which include monthly balance sheet reconciliations.

• Ensure adherence to GAAP standards.

• Identify potential for leveraging automation, AI-driven tools, and process enhancements to minimize manual tasks, boost accuracy, and speed up the month-end closing process.

• Address information requests and support the annual financial statement audit.

• Analyze financial statements and general ledger accounts to ensure that monthly, quarterly, and annual variances align with expectations and are well-documented.

• Prepare operational and ad hoc reports for further analysis related to assigned financial statement areas.

• Provide assistance to accounting leadership as necessary.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance.

• 3-4 years of experience, ideally with a blend of public and private accounting.

• CPA certification is preferred.

• Experience in one or more complex accounting areas, including but not limited to revenue recognition, inventory, stock-based compensation, debt/equity financing, business combinations, or investments.

• Experience in utilizing automation, AI tools, or advanced technology solutions to enhance accounting processes, reporting, reconciliations, or closing efficiency is preferred.

• Ability to read and analyze financial statements and reports.

• Comfortable with ambiguity and situations lacking formally defined processes.

• Exposure to public companies is preferred, whether through audit experience or industry background.

• Strong problem-solving and analytical capabilities.

• Proficient in Microsoft Excel.

• Highly organized and detail-oriented.

• Comfortable working in a fully remote environment.
