This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New Jersey, +4 more states.
• Prepare and document journal entries related to intricate transactions encompassing equity, debt, leases, internally developed software, intercompany dealings, and other relevant areas as necessary.
• Generate intercompany journal entries and perform reconciliations for various entities along with intercompany transactions.
• Conduct monthly reconciliations of the general ledger.
• Aid the finance team in developing vendor trend analyses and overseeing vendor expenditures by function.
• Collaborate with other departments to ensure adherence to internal and external reporting standards.
• Work autonomously to resolve GL-related inquiries and implement process enhancements by coordinating with the accounting team and engaging with cross-functional stakeholders.
• Provide guidance and assistance to junior accounting personnel.
• Carry out monthly, quarterly, and annual analytical reviews to verify the completeness and accuracy of account balances.
• Examine financial statements and GL data for inconsistencies, errors, and other matters requiring the Manager’s attention.
• Support research on accounting issues to ensure compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and effectively communicate findings.
• Revise company accounting procedures and processes as necessary, ensuring adherence to implemented protocols.
• Enhance and document internal controls.
• Address ad-hoc requests from management.
• Assist with interim and year-end audits, ensuring timely and accurate deliverables.
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related discipline.
• 5-7+ years of progressive experience in accounting.
• Strong understanding of US GAAP and accounting for complex transactions.
• Keen attention to detail and excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Proficient in conducting flux analysis, identifying trends and discrepancies, and proposing effective solutions.
• Proactive in recognizing process inefficiencies and providing suggestions for improvements.
• Self-motivated and capable of executing responsibilities independently with minimal guidance.
• Demonstrated ability to collaborate with multiple departments to deliver financial insights and enhance processes.
• Strong willingness to be a team player and assist in any capacity necessary.
• Experience with accounting software such as Sage Intacct, NetSuite, or Coupa.
• Advanced proficiency in Excel, GSuite, and other financial analysis tools.
