Senior Accountant

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Alabama, +45 more states.

📋 Description

• Provide support and gradually take ownership of various elements of the monthly closing process (goal: 5–7 business days)

• Prepare and record journal entries, which encompass accruals, deferrals, and reclassifications

• Ensure that transactions are accurately documented and classified in the correct accounting period

• Assist in the development of monthly financial statements and reporting packages

• Execute and uphold monthly balance sheet reconciliations

• Review accounts payable for precision, correct coding, necessary approvals, and documentation

• Identify and document required accruals and estimates

• Work collaboratively with Accounting and Operations teams to ensure consistency of financial data

• Aid in fulfilling audit and lender requests by supplying precise documentation and analysis

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline

• 4–6+ years of progressively responsible accounting experience

• Solid understanding of GAAP principles

• Familiarity with month-end closing processes

• Experience in account reconciliations

• Knowledge of accrual accounting practices

• Proficient with accounting software systems (e.g., Sage Intacct, Bill.com, or similar)

• Advanced Excel skills (including pivot tables, lookups, and data analysis)

• Experience in multi-entity or multi-location accounting

• Knowledge of intercompany accounting and consolidations

• Experience with deferred revenue or subscription-based accounting
