This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.
• Support the onboarding process for new clients, ensuring accurate recording of their financial transactions.
• Provide comprehensive accounting services, including management of accounts receivable, accounts payable, and the general ledger.
• Prepare month-end closing workbooks for various clients, which includes balance sheet reconciliations and the issuance of monthly financial statements.
• Monitor and report on restricted funds to create a net asset roll forward.
• Assist with grant management and related reporting tasks.
• Manage audit processes (including single audits): prepare schedules, provide support during audits, and coordinate all final schedules.
• Aid in the preparation of Form 990 and other local, state, and federal filings.
• Deliver specialized reporting to facilitate client decision-making.
• Organize and maintain client files, including previous year's audit and tax documentation.
• Collaborate with the controller to assist with analysis, cash flow management, and budget preparation.
• A Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting is required.
• A minimum of five years of general accounting experience is necessary.
• Experience with multiple clients or entities is preferred.
• CPA licensure is preferred.
• Extensive understanding of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) is essential.
• Significant experience in data management, record keeping, and using web-based applications is required.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, as well as QuickBooks Online and NetSuite is preferred.
• Strong organizational, problem-solving, project management, and communication skills are a must.
• Experience in audit preparation is necessary.
• Ability to thrive in a team-oriented virtual environment is required.
• A desire and aptitude to become proficient with SAGE Intacct and other third-party applications is needed.
• Capability to work from home in a professional and independent manner is essential.
• Nonprofit accounting experience is preferred.
