Senior Account Manager, Anti-Infectives

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Connecticut, +1 more state.

📋 Description

• Support and enhance formulary access, readiness of protocols and order sets, discharge pathway assistance, and demand generation across designated hospital accounts.

• Engage with Infectious Disease specialists, hospitalists, pharmacists, case management teams, discharge planners, and IDN decision-makers to drive sales efforts.

• Create, implement, and execute comprehensive business plans for your territory, targeting key customers.

• Manage relationships with hospitals while understanding the needs and priorities of customers.

• Provide scientific and clinical information relevant to the disease state and approved product area.

• Deliver sales and detailed clinical brand presentations to healthcare professionals.

• Utilize and manage resources effectively to enhance customer engagement.

• Collaborate with Organized Provider Account Directors, Reimbursement Managers, and cross-functional partners.

• Meet and surpass sales targets within the designated territory.

• Achieve formulary wins in hospitals and translate market access successes into prescribing and utilization.

• Involve stakeholders in discussions that support patient identification, treatment selection, IV-to-oral transition, discharge readiness, and reduction of readmissions.

• Facilitate collaboration with nurse navigators, discharge planners, case managers, and specialty pharmacy partners.

• Identify and address challenges affecting product adoption.

• Plan activities to meet call metrics and optimize customer coverage and frequency.

• Understand healthcare delivery systems, physician hierarchies, pharmacy personnel, and clinical nursing staff.

• Develop knowledge of products and accounts while monitoring market trends.

• Analyze utilization trends, customer insights, and local market dynamics.

• Conduct educational programs, in-services, speaker events, and compliant scientific discussions.

• Share best practices and strategies with sales colleagues.

• Provide feedback on marketing strategies and analyze sales activities and territory performance.

• Develop territory plans in conjunction with the Regional Sales Director, brand team, and support partners.

• Manage the territory budget effectively.

• Complete administrative tasks and execute the company’s brand strategy and tactics.

• Participate in training and development initiatives.

• Maintain compliance with corporate and industry policies and procedures.


⛳️ Requirements

• BA/BS degree from an accredited institution.

• Valid driver's license.

• Over 5 years of experience in the pharmaceutical, medical, or biotech industry.

• More than 3 years of experience engaging with hospitals and health systems.

• Familiarity with hospital decision-making processes, clinical pathways, formulary management, and antimicrobial stewardship programs.

• Willingness to travel up to 50% within the designated geography, including overnight stays.

• Ability to lift and/or move up to 35 pounds.

• Consistent record of achieving top-tier sales performance and proven success in product launches.

• Demonstrated ability to drive demand generation within hospitals.

• Anti-Infective experience is preferred.

• Expertise in account selling and managing complex sales processes.

• In-depth understanding of the Health Systems business model, organizational structure, key stakeholder roles, and decision-making processes.

• Experience engaging with specialist physicians, hospitalists, pharmacists, and pharmacy leadership.

• Experience collaborating across hospital and community care environments.

• Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.

• Ability to analyze data and trends to develop actionable business plans.

• Flexibility and adaptability to evolving market conditions.

• Proven ability to adhere to all regulatory, legal, and compliance standards.

• Exceptional presentation and selling skills, combined with strong business acumen.
